The Official Biography of Jonno Lodge
Born in June 1989, Jonno began playing drums at the age of 4. The start of his career in music came at the tender age of 10 with his first show at the Millennium Dome (now the O2 Arena) in London.Â
He received tuition between 2000 and 2007 from the renowned Kevin Edwards who has taught worldwide and played with various ensembles such as the BBC orchestra. This classical training enabled Jonno to become extremely versatile and helped him develop skills such as sight-reading, to an exceptional level.
Since then he has clocked up an impressive roster of artists of whom he has worked with. (Please see “work history”)
After spending a number of years in local bands in his home town of Doncaster, Jonno began filming solo videos and distributing them online in the hope he would be picked up by a major touring band.
n the summer of 2007, aged 18, UK epic-metallers Biomechanical offered him the drumming duties on a number of UK and European festival tours, as well as playing for ex-Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di'Anno on his only UK appearance in decades.
Since then, Jonno has been independently hired as a session drummer for all sorts of bands and groups, ranging from death metal video shoots, to tribute bands in clubland, to playing major festivals throughout the world. His vast taste in music enables him to fit into any music genre or situation, be it Rock, Pop, Metal, Progressive, Jazz, Latin etc... Being an experienced, qualified, private drum tutor furthered his durability.
To add to his skills, he has studied music technology with management at Staffordshire University and has gained valuable experience with numerous bands as a live sound engineer.
A small selection of artists Jonno Lodge has worked with include: Paul Di'Anno, Biomechanical, Catrin Finch, Lauren Harris, Hexfire, Son of Science, Darke Horse, Hexagram and Alcatraz, as well as sharing tours with the likes of Paul Gilbert, Gun, Helloween, Nightwish and Arch Enemy.
Jonno has recently finished his time working out on the Red Sea in Egypt, branching out into further musical genres by working with Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Papa's HRG.
